UFV AI and Changemaking Event Case Study

We assisted UFV’s Centre for Experiential and Career Education (CECE) and UFV Alumni Engagement in co-hosting UFV's second annual Community Ideation Jam. The event brought together students, alumni, faculty, institutional leaders, and industry experts for a 48-hour innovation challenge focused on using artificial intelligence to address community challenges, with the theme “Changemaking with AI”.

Delview High School Case Study

We collaborated with Delview Secondary School in the Delta School District to support an Innovations 10 class with their projects. These projects encouraged students to explore important questions about artificial intelligence, society, and culture through podcast creation.

R.E. Mountain High School Case Study

We assisted a group of students from R.E. Mountain Secondary School in Langley, British Columbia, with their Langley School District-sponsored research project focused on information consumption in the Artificial Intelligence era. The students sought guidance to better understand how society can critically evaluate information while still supporting responsible innovation and AI development.

Fraser Valley Regional Science Fair Case Study

We assisted the Fraser Valley Regional Science Fair by providing subject matter expertise in artificial intelligence and machine learning. Through the CAIAI's involvement, students conducting AI research and pursuing advanced digital technology projects were assessed through an informed industry lens and received meaningful feedback to strengthen their learning, confidence, and future development.

UFV AI Education Case Study

As one of the Canadian AI Advancement Institute’s first community partners, the University of the Fraser Valley has been very innovative in how they have approached AI in education. This partnership sparked to life in late 2024, as the UFV Alumni Association sought to share AI insights with their members along with university staff and students.

Industry Case Studies

Langley Chamber of Commerce Case Study

The Canadian AI Advancement Institute (CAIAI) and the Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce have built one of the CAIAI's earliest and most enduring institutional partnerships, combining hands-on workshops with an ongoing course offering for Chamber members. The collaboration began with a foundational "AI in Business" workshop and has since grown into a formal training partnership featuring a discounted introductory AI course and advanced, sold-out skill-building workshop sessions.

Canadian Construction Association Case Study

We partnered with the Canadian Construction Association to engage their membership and deliver an in-person AI training workshop at their conference in Halifax. The session was designed to help association leaders better understand the implications of AI adoption, discuss emerging governance considerations, share their own organizational experiences, and identify practical opportunities to apply AI tools in their work.

Greater Vancouver Zoo Case Study

We partnered with the Greater Vancouver Zoo to help them explore how AI could be used ethically, safely, and effectively within its own operations. To support this effort, we delivered in-person AI training for its management staff and C-suite, focusing on practical implementation and long-term organizational value.

ZVS Land Management Case Study

ZVS Land Management is a growing BC company that worked with us to incorporate AI into their operations. The work we’ve done with Zeb and ZVS Land Management has been extensive: so much so that this partnership is now featured as a example in the prompt engineering chapters of our Introduction to Artificial Intelligence textbook.

Abbotsford Executive Association Case Study

We partnered with the Abbotsford Executive Association to deliver an AI workshop to provide an overview of how business leaders across the Fraser Valley approach artificial intelligence implementation.

Inclusion Langley Society Case Study

We partnered with Inclusion Langley Society to deliver AI education that would empower their team to integrate artificial intelligence tools into their daily operations and service delivery. This collaboration exemplifies how targeted AI training can enhance organizational capacity while maintaining the core values of community service and inclusion that define the non-profit sector.

Greyspace Maintenance Case Study

In a recent collaboration Greyspace Maintenance and the Canadian AI Advancement Institute (CAIAI) had the opportunity to take a deep dive into their business and explore some very impactful opportunities.

Digital Governance Council Welcomes CAIAI as New Member and Expands AI Learning Initiatives

The Digital Governance Council (DGC) expands its AI learning initiatives with the Canadian AI Advancement Institute (CAIAI). This collaboration builds on the Council’s growing network of partners, including its work with the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute (Amii) and CPA Ontario, and reflects a continued commitment to advancing AI literacy, skills development, and responsible adoption nationwide.

Students explore community-centred AI at UFV’s 2025 Ideation Jam, co-hosted by the CAIAI

The Community Ideation Jam — co-hosted by UFV’s Centre for Experiential and Career Education (CECE) and the Canadian AI Advancement Institute (CAIAI) and in partnership with UFV Alumni Engagement— asked participants to explore the theme “Changemaking with AI”. The challenge: design an AI solution that addresses a real need in the community. Throughout the event, participants were encouraged to use CAIAI’s ETPIA model — exploration, testing, policy, implementation, and adoption — to help them move from idea to responsible design.

Langley Chamber Advancing AI Education for Langley Businesses

Building on two AI workshops held earlier this year, the Chamber has partnered with the Canadian AI Advancement Institute (CAIAI) to offer their Introduction to Artificial Intelligence course at an exclusive discount for Chamber members. This online, at-your-own-pace course covers five key topics necessary for AI adoption: AI ethics, AI security, machine learning, model training and prompt engineering, practical applications of generative AI tools, and hands-on experience in customizing generative models. The course is also supported by a 16-chapter textbook featuring insights from AI experts across North America and the globe.

Where alumni experience meets student aspiration: Career Month at UFV

Career Month continued with the Community Ideation Jam, a collaborative opportunity centred on Changemaking with AI.
