Sireesha's Expert Insights

Chavali contributed written expert insights to our course material in September 2025, which have been cited in many of our offerings, including the Introduction to Artificial Intelligence course.

Excerpts from a Data Engineering AI Expert

“Human-centered AI prioritizes human values and oversight throughout every phase of AI development, ensuring technology empowers people rather than replaces them. By embedding ethics, transparency, and accountability, this approach builds trust, reduces risk, and ensures AI genuinely serves societal needs.”

“I believe there isn’t a single, perfect approach; like anything in life, we need to continuously refine AI systems by balancing various trade-offs to ensure fairness. Handling ambiguity and responding to nuances are critical human traits that must be carefully considered in AI development.”

“A human-centered approach to data curation in AI is vital to prevent the amplification of biases, ensure fairness, and align AI outcomes with real human contexts and values. By involving diverse human insights and oversight throughout data selection, AI systems become safer, more accurate, and better able to serve society equitably while minimizing harms and discrimination.”
