Tkeshelashvili contributed written expert insights to our course material in September 2025. The insights bring a security policy perspective to our courses.

Excerpts from a Security AI Expert

“There are various definitions of “human-in-the-loop,” both technical and policy-oriented. In practice, it means that humans meaningfully oversee the full lifecycle of AI development and deployment – and retain the ability to intervene in or control AI functions, services, and decisions. This is especially critical in contexts where AI affects national security or human security.”

“Beyond developers, every organization with functions tied to national or human security should cultivate strategic foresight around AI – that is, the ability to anticipate how AI tools could impact their operations, their workforce, and the broader environment. This includes recognizing potential harms early and developing mechanisms to restrain them.”

“Every stakeholder within the AI ecosystem has a shared responsibility – but the primary responsibility lies with AI developers. They must ensure that, despite market pressures and competitive dynamics, they act responsibly and cautiously when deploying these powerful systems.”
