Daryl's Expert Insights

Hatton contributed written expert insights to our course material in January 2025. The insights cover how a founder decides when to adopt a new technology, how a small organization builds the partnerships it needs to use it well, and what a business owes the people it touches when it does.

Excerpts from a Practical AI Expert

“The “voice” of your AI should match your corporate culture and your brand experience. If it is different from the experience a customer has when they talk directly with you, they won’t trust you or the AI very much.”

“Beware of the ever-present moral hazard. Customers will use your AI in ways you’ve never anticipated. Avoid the shortcut of thinking they’ll never hurt themselves with it. They might. And that could be catastrophic for your business.”

“Unleash the “child within” in your team. Give them time during their work week to experiment with AI to solve their business problems. Hold a Show & Tell session once a month for them to share what they’ve discovered. Reward their risk-taking by following up on the best ideas.”
