Most workplaces now have people using AI tools without an agreed view of what is safe to put into them. This two-hour workshop introduces the tools worth knowing, the ethical and security implications of using them, and the prompting methods that make them useful.
Generative AI: How to use AI ethically, safely and effectively is our shortest introductory workshop, built for teams that are new to AI or that have adopted it unevenly. In two hours, we identify popular and useful AI tools, discuss their ethical and security implications, and cover high-level prompting methods. It runs online or in person and gives everyone in the room the same vocabulary and the same boundaries to work within.
The session opens with ethics and security, which most teams have never been walked through. We cover what happens to information entered into a public tool, where the privacy lines sit, and how to judge output that sounds confident and is wrong. It is the practical version, aimed at the decisions someone makes every day.
Next we move into the tools themselves. Together we will identify the generative AI tools that are useful for the kind of work your team does, and share what each one is good and bad at. People leave able to tell the difference between a task worth handing to AI and one that isn’t.
The last stretch is prompting. We work through high-level prompting methods with examples from your sector wherever possible. Sessions run online or in person.
We have run introductory AI sessions for business associations, non-profits, national trade bodies and municipal-scale organizations across British Columbia and beyond. Most of them came to us in the same position: staff already experimenting with AI tools, no shared understanding of what was acceptable, and a leadership team wanting to get ahead of it. Group sizes have ranged from a single management team to rooms of around fifty.

from a workshop engagement or a broader AI literacy initiative.
Tell us about your team and we’ll confirm timing, format and scope on a short call before anything is booked.
Our mission is to help Canadians learn, adapt and succeed with AI. That work starts with sessions like this one, where a team gets a clear, honest picture of what these tools do, what they cost in risk as well as money, and how to use them well.
